2002 silverado
i purchased this vehicle with 16500 miles at around 17000 miles was hearing pecking noises from top of engine at cold starts lasting 1-2 minutes dealership seemed to think it was a lubrication problem as well as i ,at this time i was informed they wanted to replace sump pump o-ring with new o-ring redisigned of new materal, on inspecting old o-ring they found cut in the o-ring, they installed new ring filled with fresh oil.and to my surprise the problem was not corrected, now does anyone think that possibly with the old o-ring being defective it could have scared some internal parts namely one (lifters) or possibly any other part needing lubrication?i now have 25000 miles same noise every day lasting the same amount of minutes also now have a clatter noise lasting the entire time engine is running. mfg response to this is this is charectoristics of this engine but these charectorestics werent present when i purchased this vehicle . any ideas on this im all ears.
