wheels

I didn't really know where to go to ask about this so I thought maybe you people here might know...

well I'm wanting to get some 17x7-17x7.5 in the front and 17x7.5-17x8 in the back, I want some with a chrome or silver lip, or whatever you wanna call it, that goes around the outside. doesn't really matter the color of the middle section, just throw out names and pictures and web sites... I can't seem to find a very large selection anywhere so I thought maybe you people might know

and yes I know its better to use smaller tires in the back when drifting because its easier to break traction(I plan on either using the stock 15x6 or getting a pair of used turbo wheels to throw on when I wanna slide around a bit

and no I'm not wanting them just because its the 'drift style', I haven't decided for sure if I even want this style wheels, but I like the look so its something I'm considering... if not I'll end up getting either silver or gun metal 5 or 6 spokes

Re: wheels

Try Volk Racing or Gram light. Good looking. Many drifters use these wheels. The have the desired crome lip/dish you are looking for.

You have a 5 lug pattern right? If you do you can get some very very nice old volvo turbo wheels for it, those are cool looking, they dont have the silver lip that you are talking about however. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43955
theres a pair of them. I suggest these because they are really cool looking, but also because they are small. If you got 17 wheels, you would have to get often more expensive lower profile tires, and that makes the wheels very delicate also. Also the stock wheels on your car are 15" I believe, so you need to be carefull not to get something to big, especially for drifting. make sure that they are fit in the wheels wells with the wheels turned to their sharpest, with a some extra space because the car will be forcing down. But anyways, go for what you like.

Re: wheels

yea I'm not gonna do a whole lot of drifting with the 17's, mostly cuz the tires will be more expensive... I'm just gonna buy used tires for my stock 15's to throw on the back when I wanna get crazy and I'm gnona use http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to make sure it will fit right... stock is 205/60/15 and I plan on getting 215/45/17... that will only affect my speedo by .3% which means at 60mph I'll be going 59.8mph so it should work just fine... I think I'm gonna end up buying off ebay
