cold air intake problems
hi im new to the 240sx forum. i sold my civic and got a 240.(i havent changed my screenname yet). but i got a filter and adapter in the mail today and i put it on. when i try to start my car, it boggs down and stalls. there is a small black box behind the intake area and my question is what is that, and why wont my car start. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Hey there... welcome to the club! What year 240 did you get? If it's between 89-93, it should have an AICV which might be the black box you're talking about. If you left that open, that could be why you're having problems. Also, try resetting the ECU. Good luck.

it is a '90 i think, and yes i left it open. is there any way i can get it to go somewhere? what does the AICV do? I didnt have one on the civic or the rsx.

Yo! connect the air flow censor! w/ out it the car will stall, always!
