AT not shifting
This is a 91 GS Turbo 2WD 105K Miles: Car was up on jacks for other rebuilds. When I dropped it down auto trans would not shift when driving. Has first and reverse. Has right amount of trans fluid and ran fine before no use for about a month. Shift cable adjustment looks fine. This is an auction car and I don't know the last time the trans was serviced. Fluid looks just fine - a nice red color. Anybody got info from a similar problem? I was thinking maybe the electric overdrive selenoid is not working well and it is holding up other gears.

My 91 is acting insane in the opposite gears
I have an auction car that has no reverse and has to be revved, and paused to shift into high gear. It may be missing a forward gear along with reverse, because I only recall one shift from takeoff to highway speed. Overdrive button just totally spazzes the shift problem further- with OD button on, the car acts as though it is slipping out of gear.
This car has a foot in the grave unless someone smart can guide me into a fix. Thanks!! |
