Re: hoods

thats why I was wondering... gonna go to the junkyard as soon as my clutch is in and see if I can't find a vert. (or one of the rumored rare coupes with an aluminum hood) and see how much it will cost me... I have a blue one lined up from a guy in CA. for 70 bucks but I don't wanna pay shipping on the beast... plus my car is red and I can't afford to paint it

Re: hoods

no no no.... no turbo hood on my non-turbo, thats for sure... had an offer for a red turbo hood in grat shape only $50 bucks... hated to turn down the amazing deal but I couldn't be so gay as to advertise a turbo when I didn't have one... plus I'm not a big fan of hood scoops anyways

no I think you should put the turbo hood on because then it will be your excuse to do the turbo powertrain swap in the near future.

Re: hoods

no no no... thats too much money for me I just wanna lighten the car a little, full exhaust, shocks and springs, wheels and tires, stage 1 clutch(which is getting put in this weekend), steel flywheel 17lbs, and short shifter(probably the next thing I get) then rebuild it and maybe do a street port... not sure yet, then I might fix the 3 hail dents and repaint it but doubtful... cuz I plan on finding an AE86 project car after that

So Soyo do you just want the rx-7 for a warmed up daily driver then? Why get a AE86 anyways?

Re: hoods

Trust me, I drift... And bending up your FC kinda hurts.. I would rather have a 240 or celica, corolla, etc for my track sled.

Re: hoods

I never said the AE86 had a rotary haha and yea I want to preserve my 7 and use the corrola as the drift car, also I will probably buy winter tires for it so I don't have to drive the 7 in the snow either

the 7 will be hat I drive most just not in the snow or when I wanna get a little crazy sideways, and the AE86 will serve its purpose well for that, plus if I have to work on one I'll have the other still so I'll never be without a car(like I have been for almost a month now)

alright, i respect that. but if you just want a cheap winter/drifting car, why dont you get a 1st gen rx-7? My friend has one and those things are fun as hell. not a whole lot of power, but they're so light. they handle awesome too, really responsive. that way youd at least be staying with rotary, and you could then say that you own 2 rx-7's.
