Any way to turn a SOHC into a DOHC?

I was wondering if there's anything you can do to a D series..like changing the head or somehow making it a DOHC without swapping the entire engine...

Re: Any way to turn a SOHC into a DOHC?

Umm, with the right amount of money you can do anything. And i think that you can swap a head from another similar motor to make it DOHC. But im not 100% positive. Not really a Honda buff.

Ummm look up the differences between SOHC and DOHC motors and you will see it's next to impossible unless you live in LA-LA land

Re: Any way to turn a SOHC into a DOHC?

Hmm.... I am taking classes to sandcast aluminum in school right now. Anyone interested in giving me all the dimensions, measurements, etc. needed so as to allow me to cast the very first aftermarket D16 DOHC head? Someone else will have to CNC the cast piece to fit cams blah blah blah though as I have not learned to run the CNC machine yet.

****************I WISH*************

If I could be the one to create a simple SOHC-DOHC head swap kit for Civics I would be filthy rich! But just like me buying land on Mars, it will just never happen.
