Member profiles!

To hell with some of you!

Is it so friggin' hard to fill in "location" and "birthday" in your profiles! It would make it quite a bit easier for some of us to communicate with you, and answer the questions that you posted in the first place!

NOTE: this is NOT directed at anyone in particular!

I am a bit confused, what does birthday and location have to do with contacting someone? You can PM anyone here.

I dont usually fill in the birthday or location so I can avoid those spammer out there who deceminate the data from message boards to help build their mailing lists. (its not that hard to rip that get that data out of here)

Well, I'm talking about the precise address, but the country would be nice!

As for birthdays - I can tell the age, and then modulate the conversations: I'll know whether I'm talking with a 15y. old, ar a 30 y. old. Please don't tell me it makes no difference to you.

True. But sometimes the flag does not represent the location. And some don't even bother choose the flag! Thats who m I'm unhappy with.

And I'm not saying that the young age is bad, it just matters.

I know I'm older then at least 90% of the people here so its pretty easy for me to guess the person I'm talking to is younger.

I did put in my birth date, I didn't disclose my age cuz I don't want people calling me old fart :finger:

and my location is pretty obvious if you factor in my username, there's only one cowtown in Canada---Calgary

I behaved! I filled all my info in!

But I do tend to agree that it is hard for me (at 19 y/o) to choose my mannerisms for private conversations when the members don't disclose any real hints as to their age. Or even location can play a role in how I act. I don't want to be the stupid, uneducated American of the lot, so I may rack my brain for information on the general backgroud of the person with whom I am speaking.

Considering the availability of cars over the world it really is useful if we know the country. As for e.g. When I registerd no one knew something about the renault 5 Turbo. And I found out that it never reached oversea in his time.

Is that the model known as Alpina or something like that? In that case, yes it did reach overseas, we got a few here long time ago.
