Re: 2005 Chevrolet Corvette

400 horsepower from the 5.7 sounds good to me. Haven't decided about the fixed headlights yet.

I could also do the 400 horse, especially with an automatic as an option, and I have heard 2 different stories as far as underpinnings. 1. I have heard that most or all of the hipo chassis stuff, (suspension and the big brakes) are going to come standard on the C6. 2. I have also heard that the hipo chassis stuff, (suspension, bug brakes, & so forth) will be an option, but not come standard on the C6. I like the enclosed, non-pop-up headlights, but I don't think that I could live with the looks of the new C6 front end, FWIW & IMHO. So, I guess that I will be staying with my '02 Z06 and doing some upgrading on the motor & suspension. Oh, well, I guess that things could be worse. You can bet that GM is not going to give the new ones away like they are doing on the C5's to get rid of them. And you can bet your bottom dollar that the price on the Z06 replacement, regardless of what they are going to call/name it, with almost/approximately 500 horse on tap, is going to be stepped on severly. My guess is that you will be lucky to be able to purchase one within the first year at MSRP. The dealers will mark them up whatever the trafic will bear.
