help! gas pedal has no power
i have an '89 excel and periodically it will go into this "phase" where when i press on the gas pedal the car slows down. no power. period. when i say no power i don't mean electrical, i mean the car has no "go" power and it wants to stall. anything would be helpful at this point. it does this periodically for about two minutes then for no reason it'll go away. i am completely clueless. i have put in gasline deicer cleaned the carb and choke and the throttle isn't sticking. please help.

Why don't you go to a mechanic and get the car checked out. That's the first thing I would do

You have dirt in the float bowl. Time to rebuild your carb.
The dirt willbe at the bottom of the float bowl ,and when you put the car under load at first it will go fine, but once that dirt has been picked up by the fuel it will stall the motor. Im dealing with this exact problem in my sisters 1984 Honda Accord 1.6 liter. Time for a carb rebuild

yeha it would be a carb problem, but i got fuel injection so im sorry i cant help u!!! BUT EXCELS ROCK MANN!!!
