Why would I buy a mustang?

Not trying to be a snob, but...

Could anyone tell me why I would want to buy a mustang over some of the options coming out of japan recently, namely the Evo and WRX? Purely in a straight line, something that American muscle cars usually dominate, both cars are faster than a Mustang GT, and the WRX Sti and Evo are faster than a Cobra or SVT. Not to mention that these cars could outperform the fords on a racetrack, generating far more lateral g's and more advanced suspension setups.
And then add in the cost factor. A WRX will tie a mustang GT in a straight line and cook it in the corners, and ties the price at $25k. And an Evo 7 and WRX Sti will give an SVT cobra a run for its money, while being $5000 cheaper, and arguably packed with much higher technology.
So maybe I'm overlooking something, and would like a different point of view. Anyone?

Blah Blah Blah. I'm not in the mood for another flame fest to come out of this. Sorry.
