Question Help with Rims

I want to know as much as I possibly can about buying rims. I know very little right now. Please, if you know anything at all, even if you think it is stupid post it because I might not know it. Here is what I know: I have a 94 integra ls. I heard that I need a 40 offset. I was thinking of getting 17's because i think they look great- possibly used off ebay. I heard 18's bend too easy in potholes. I guess 17's will be a little heavy- no big deal, unless they will damage my brakes or something. Please post any info you know about rims--I don't want to do something I regret. Thanks

Re: Help with Rims

make sure the lug pattern is 4x100. 17's are not that heavy. you could get some pretty good deals off ebay for new rims and tires. just don't buy from "rimdealer"

Re: Help with Rims

make sure your offset is correct too. you run the possibility of rubbing on the fender wells if not, especially with plus-sized wheels.

don't buy from hamtaro1015 either. like gnushit said, ebay has some good deals. just make sure you buy from a seller with great feedback.

those look sweet. since its tire size is 205/40/17's, the tread width should be 7, so yes for $700 i would get them, but u never know u might even get it for lower. i got mine for 1200 brand new with performance tires.

Re: Help with Rims

the guy selling the wheels (from the link above) said that they weigh 14.5 pounds. How accurate is that? and has anyone ever heard of sport max(the maker of the rims from the link)? I am new to cars and I don't know anything about them.

Re: Help with Rims

i'd be skeptical. Non brand name rims, and no-name tires =

Re: Help with Rims

I think I've given up on those five spokes. There is a guy selling 16" enkei rims with very good condition with "new ze_326 205/40r16 83h" tires. He says that the wheel and tire together weigh 36 pounds. Are these good wheels? I have heard of the name enkei before but I don't know much about their reputation.
