gear selector on 92 le

i figured out my problem with my reverse lights ots due to the gear selector. when i put it in reverse the transmission goes into reverse but the light on the dash doesnt light up. when i move the selector back just a small bit the light on the dash comes on and the reverse lights come on.

my question is: does it sound like something is loose? is the selector connected to the tranny with a cable or rod? anyone else hear of this problem?

Re: gear selector on 92 le

The switch is adjusted by loosening the retaining bolts and lining up a line with a groove in the center bolt or if your careful, put the car in reverse and move the switch until the lights come on.P.S. make sure it still starts in park and neutral ONLY.
