Unhappy '92 3.8 Odometer problem - strange

Need some info desperately -

My '92 25th Anniversary Edition Cougar blew a head gasket. I tore it down did the repair and test drove. Had a real bad miss, but the speedo and odometer were working. Miss turned out to be a bad injector. Took the upper intake manifold back off, replaced injector and fixed the miss. Now, however, the speedometer still works, but the odometer and trip meter do not. Aren't they all driven by the same input? Can someone please tell my how these things are driven?

THanks,
Klaus

my 94 cougar's odometer doesn't work either, it hasn't had any repairs like that. Maybe its a defect.

My 92 T-bird did that a while before I wrecked it.

92 cougar blown gasket

My 92 is still sitting in the driveway with the second (2nd) blown head gasket.
I refuse to pay for another. These things are not great. High maintenance and expensive parts for a car that is 12 years old.
However,.....
I will be getting rid of it soon, and maybe sell off the parts, or whole.

good luck with your problems.
