Question Removing Center Console

I need to remove my center console. It has the cassette deck and storage compartment.

Don't use the console, as I need to install some radios.

Anyone know how to go about removing it and also would there be carpeting under it?

Thanks
Terry

I have a 2000 Chevy S-10 Extended cab.
The console is between the seats.
Has the cassette tape deck, arm rest, and cupholders.
