04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

04 Honda Accord Coupe EX-V6 fully loaded (aero kit, spoilers, everything) or G35 Sedan AWD (not so many options)? What do you guys think? Looks, performance, etc....

Note that I'm 19 years old and would choose the g35 coupe over both the above mentioned cars anyday but that is not an option.

Re: 04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

good driver in accord V6 6sp will beat G35 automatic sedan in 1/4ml run and it will destroy AWD G35 in same race.

as far of look, you need to decide for yourself, everybody must have personal taste and should follow it.

BTW, if you decide to buy accord don't buy accessories from dealer, you'll definitely pay too much. get them from www.handaaccessories.com

I'd suggest the '04 Accord Inspire or in my opinion, the even better looking '00-'03 Accord Inspire (AKA Acura 3.2TL).

Re: 04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

Heh, if a friend of mine got a 3.2TL (which would never happen, they have no money, like, at all) I'd steal it. That or I'd tell them they need to take it back because I'm going to buy one. Well, actually, I have no money either, so I guess that's not a problem =/

I guess you could look at it like this, the G35 is the US version of the new Nissan Skyline. If you buy it, you can finally say, "I have a Nissan Skyline." Sure, it isn't an R33 or R34 and it's not a GTR, but it does look kinda cool.

Have you thought about the 350z? Oh, and how the hell can you afford to buy a new car at 19? You're only a few months older than I am!

Re: Re: 04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

Anything with Nissan's 3.5L is sweet, one hell of an engine design, IMO. We had an Infiniti QX4(i think that the small SUV) anyway, with over 30K that enginge ran so smooth you couldn't feel or hear it at idle. Only noise heard is the fan & smooth enough to balance a nickel standing on the intake mainfold.
Is there a G35 AWD coupe yet? I'd rather have RWD personally.

Re: 04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

yea the AWD just came out. yea id rather have the the new Sedan 6spd RWD. but i like the accord the most. the only thing the AV6 is lacking is torque though.

Re: Re: 04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

haha i can afford it cuz i made a deal with my parents... ya kno those deals where ur parents dont think u will fulfill ur end so they just agree to the deal to make u try? well.... i got perfect on SAT so they have to go thru with their deal and get me a luxury car. =D haha they waited long enough IMO....

of course if i was paying myself i'd pick the g35 coupe but since they payin... they got a say in it.

wat u think bout the audi a4 then? also good choice?

I would have to say the Infinity in the category of performance, but the Accord in the cosmetics realm. I love accords, don't get me wrong, but the Infinity would just outperform a V6 accord. Not only does the Inifinity produce more hp, but it also has All-Wheel Drive. The V6 Accord is a two-door, versus the four-door G35, which gives the Accord an advantage, but not enough.

The AWD, in my opinion, is the biggest factor. With power to all four corners of the vehicle, it not only increases handling power, but also acceleration. It's true, it's true. Look at the '04 Subaru Impreza WRX STi. It uses a turbocharged 2.5L I-4 (not much larger than many F- and H-series accords) to produce approx. 300 hp and 300 lb/ft of torque. I've heard not only on AF, but from other Ford enthusiasts complaining that this new Subaru will best a brand new SVT Cobra (which, in my experience, doesn't take much to beat a Mustang), both bone stock. I've never seen it happen for myself, mainly because I've never seen a new STi around here, but I'm certain it's possible. This is because of the AWD.

If it was up to me, I'd prefer the AWD G35. It seems though that the choice really isn't up to you, either :P. Just tell your parents the Infinity would be much safer. Maybe then they'll be convinced. And you won't even have to break any commandments because it wouldn't be a lie ;-). Good luck.

2004 Accord Coupe V6 with 6-speed close ratio manual transmission handles very well and the reliability record of Accord is hard to beat. Note that it uses regular gasoline (instead of premium as most v6 cars, including g35). Options at the dealership are expensive.

The other alternative is the final year production 2003 Acura CL. You may get very attractive financing rate or discount.

Re: Re: 04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

hehe yea g35 is nice.. but a fully loaded accord approaches the price of a base price g35. if i do get an accord i guess i'll mod it to get the extra power.

other cars in consideration:

audi a4 quattro - very effective awd system that my mom loves but talks about reliability problems with audi (just visist an audi forum and you'll know what i'm talking about)
bmw 325 - nice beemer quality but where i live... you see a bmw 3 series in every other driveway =(
subaru wrx - good power and awd but for some reason i hate the looks so i probably won't get it but i put it up here for the hell of it.

wat other suggestions u have?

Re: 04 Honda Accord Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

the WRX out performors all those cars and probaly out handles them. get a 2002 there cheaper and will save ur parents money. if ur lookin to modify the car the WRX is probaly the best outta the ones u listed.
