I know we've been through this before but about the warrenty....
I doubt this will have much of an effect, but is the warrenty voided if I were to add minor things, new muffler tips, lowering springs etc...?
WELL? |

Re: I know we've been through this before but about the warrenty....
Lowering springs will void the warantee of suspension components. Unless they are sold by the factory, or it has been preaganged witht he dealer.
Warrantee is only to cover the defects in products, not thigs that are broken due to the owners modifications and such. So really anything that changes the way the car runs will void the warantee. |

this is teh thing about warranties....
if your car is taken to teh shop.... the mechanic cannot say your car has no warranty anymore because of aftermarket parts... they have to prove that the new aftermarket part you have in caused teh problem... if you get a new exhaust... then the warranty is voided on teh exhaust nothing else.... same with a body kit... you change your bumpers.... they void teh warranty on your bumpers.... theres a few laws out there abotu no dealership can void a warranty.... ill get em for you guys in alil bit if i can find em again... and if teh deal says you voided teh warranty.. then ask why and tell him to prove it.. and well once i post up teh laws.. youll understand.. i hope this helps for now |

Re: I know we've been through this before but about the warrenty....
Warantee covers manufacturer defects, not customer neglance.
Its not very hard to prove that a suspension spring, damaged the shock, or a controll arm. The reason a dealer does not take it to the point of having to prove it is because they want to have a good reputation. The dealer may not be able to void your warantee, but they can refuse to work on your car. Which is bascily the same deal. They can make you go to another dealer in some other place. The can basicly make it impossible you have your car repaird under the warantee. Dont mess with a dealer. Check that everything you do to the car is ok witht he dealer. And when the warantee is up then go nuts. |

Ok so what you're advising is that I should check with my dealer before I have any mods added...sounds like a plan |

And yes clear it with your dealer. Make sure what you put on wont cause you greif later on.Its the best thing to do. Also try to get them to install the parts as well. That way they will be more inclined to help when the part is not working properly.
