156 Alarm starts after car locked? HELP - have to leave car unlocked!

Hi guys

I really need some help!

I have a 2000 156 2.0 Tspark. When I lock the car using the fob key or the door lock key, the indicators flash as usual and then there will be a beeping for about 10 seconds and the alarm starts?

I have tried everything. Made sure all the doors are shut, windows shut, glove box, boot, hood, even stearing lock on. Have tried moving the sensors inside, starting and stoping the engine, re opening everything and more. I have tried the spare key fob and same thing. Sometimes it's fine, others I just have to leave it unlocked.

I would turn the alarm off, but the car is second hand and I don't have the alarm key.

Can anyone help PLEASE!

alarm

Hi

It is most likely one of the switches (probably the boot) is a bit iffy. When you drive your does the little schematic of the car on the dashboard indicate any of the doors or boot are open. If it doesn't the little flashing red light on the dash will tell you why the alarm has been triggered. The number of flashes will corolate to the sensor that has tripped the alarm. I can't remember how many flashes equals which sensor but they are listed in the owners handbook. (Which I have left at work.)

Good luck

Ed

Thanks Ed.
I couldn't wait any longer and took it to a Alarm specialist. It was indeed the pin switch that needed replacing. Thanks for your help.
Cheers
