Remote start....

I recently had remote start added to my 04 Explorer, it will not function in cold weather (like when is it needed), Ziebart blames it on Ford, has anyone else heard of this?

It's because of the faulty equipment Ziebart uses. They should just stick to sunroofs and rustproofing. You can not use the tach signal in a newer Ford vehicle which is what I assume they used. You must pick up the signal from a fuel injector but I am unsure if their starters can understand the signal from the injectors like mine can.

Re: Remote start....

That's what I was afraid of, they will around with this for weeks before they finally say they can't fix it. Cold weather is what the remote starters are mostly for, they do precious little good if they only work above freezing.

Well tell them you talked to a person who does this for a living and see if you can get them to pick a signal from a fuel injector.
