Visit the McLaren F1 Museum today...

Someone on another forum posted this graphic creation - it's really not too spectacular as most of the photos used are common ones, but I thought others here might appreciate viewing it.

Here are some screenshots so you get an idea of what to expect.

Here's the link - I'm not certain how long it will be active as he is borrowing someone's bandwidth to host this:

http://students.poly.edu/~randy/Mcla...eum/index.html

Also, the speed of loading and performance once you bring it up will be dependant on the quality of the PC you are using.

Incidentally, one of the shots was taken by our local hero mini magic, and another was heavily edited by me to make it what you see there.

Just wait until you see the real thing at the MTC later on this year. McLaren are in the middle of fitting it out now.

There's a feature to this gallery I didn't realize existed when I first checked it out. When you double click on a photo, it opens it in a small window to the right of the museum screen. If you copy the URL of that image and paste it into a new browser window, it will display each photo at the full resolution.

dave - I assume you know more than most given that comment, so is there any chance of getting an invite to the Grand Opening?

No chance, sorry I'd like to help but I don't think I'll even be there.

No - when there are multiple users in the Museum at the same time you will see them as various figures. I'm not sure how you control what you look like though.

I just checked it out and for me, I had to wait until every single photo in the gallery had loaded before it would work. Maybe give it another try.

Yes, all the images used have been uploaded at a very high resolution. What speed is your connection? If you are on dialup, it might take several minutes for all of that to download. I'm not sure if it would eventually time out if your connection was too slow though.

Anyway, there are some walls which don't have images on them. The three walls in the alcove where you begin don't have images, only the one directly in front of you. Also, the two walls that face each other in the center courtyard don't have images on them either. Are you having problems getting the ones on the outside walls to load?
