What late model wagon would you buy?
I currently have a 93 wagon, but want to get rid of it (after 170,000 miles) and buy another car, preferably with the 3rd back seat for extra kids.
Would you recommend buying another Taurus wagon, if so which model out of 2000-2004? I would like to keep it under $15,000. or Is there another type car that also has the 3rd rear seat ie Volvo, Toyota?...seems like they don't make these models anymore... correct? My other alternative is a minivan, however it seems they are harder to handle, suck more gas and are more expensive. Your comments please Thanks, Herman |

re: Wagon choices
I often drive my parents '92 taurus wagon and thoroughly enjoy it in all its shityness. Although it may be out of your price range, I believe the Mercedes E-class wagon has rear-facing 3rd row seats. Maybe a very used one? I don't know about wagons from Audi or BMW. (Interesting how only the nicest car companies -foreign- have caught on to the fact that wagons are cool). While you aparently live in the US, I would go for a Honda Accord staion wagon if it were possible. If you can find a used Camry wagon, it will last you longer and be a better long term investment than the Taurus option. Althugh this does not rule out the Taurus. Finding only a slightly used Taurus is easy, and they are SO cheap. It gives you a lot of car, relatively good quality, and it's easy to live with. Try Cars.com and search by type of vehicle (wagon) in your area. Good luck, wagons rock.
