Climate Contol Blower has a mind of it's own
Looking for any leads on which components to check out on my Climate Control system in my '95 Aurora. The blower only blows when it wants to. Whether I have it set on Auto, or to any position, any temperature, passenger control, whatever - the blower will kick on whenever it decides it is time to. It will then run until I turn the car off usually. However, when I next start the car, the blower will decide whether it wants to blow or not. It really is frustrating on these COLD mornings. I see several fuses, relays, and resistors listed in the owner's manual, but haven't been able to find a service manual.
HELP!! Steve |

Re: Climate Contol Blower has a mind of it's own
This might be a partial cause of your problem. It is probably something having to do with the sensor that controls this function.
------------------------------------------------ Since your heater uses the engine coolant to heat the air. You will not get any heating until your engine is warmed up. Watch the coolant temperature indicator. As soon as the engine starts warming up, the blower will start blowing. If you turned it on before this, you would be blasted with icy cold air. It is luxury car feature and it is covered on page 3-3 in the third paragraph of your owners manual. Trust me, you would not want it to blow before your engine warms up ... it would make you colder. |

Re: Climate Contol Blower has a mind of it's own
My blower did the exact same thing this winter. After the car warmed up, it would run fine. The service guys ended up replacing the blower, and now it works again. The repair cost $184.
