Applying to 7-day Boarding School for High School, need opinion

My parents and I have considered applying to boarding school for high school last summer. I'd like to know if anyone has attended 7-day boarding school, and how your expercience was. Did you enjoy it? Did you hate it? and basically how was it. I'm looking at schools in the Tristate area, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut(I live in Jersey). I'm really looking foward to the experience, and I'd like to see if there's more to look foward to.

I'm applying to the Taft School in Connecticut; the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut; the Lawrenceville School and Blair Academy, both in NJ.

I went to a private day school outside boston, 500 students, about 50 boarders. My parents 'made me go' but once I found my niche I really liked the school. Be prepared for the "prep" aspect of the schools you're talking about. Those are all top notch schools that will be throwing a lot of work at you on top of mandatory athletics. Be excited... beautiful campus, hot girls, good teachers, good food... if you study hard you'll have your choice of colleges.. Ivies included.

I went to military school and found that it's fun until they kick you out. Stay focused and don't try to be a leader... no one is gonna remember you in 50 years for starting a riot or standing up for classmates. It's dog eat dog anywhere in the real world so school wise look out for number 1.
