b16 runnin mid 13's??

a guy at a local shop told me that is i put a b16 in my 94 civic hatch that i could be runnin mid 13's is this at all likly or is he blowin smoke where the sun dont shine.

With some mods you could. All it takes is money and almost any car can be fast.

JUST a b16? If so, he's bullshitting you HARD.

Stock SiR-II hatches in Japan come with 170hp b16s stock, with an LSD, and you can even get it with a JaSpec 4-1 header. Those cars don't run close to 13's, and barely break 14's with good driving.

I would watch-out for shops that would lie to you like that.

I've seen a crx running 13's with a stock b18c1 (well...exaust and filter) and just minor suspension mods...but thats a lighter car with a more powerful engine setup sooo....

so what do you think i would run its basically an sir with intake jdm header exhaust straight pipe type r cams tuned type r intake manif and tb with good tires and driver?

Assuming stock interior, and good driving, you have the potential to run a 14.4 give or take. Now when I say potential, I mean potential.

Don't be too disheartened if you run a 15.2 or so. I've seen it.

You will never be running mid 13s with a b16 on a hatch. Even with NA mods you wont get there...

ok i know you guys are all being honest but it makes me really sad to hear i cant run 13's with a b16 and it still be street legal!!!!!!!well guys thanks for the input i am still gettin a b16 other then i/h/e what are easy power upgrades cam gears and crap like that??? any advice is helpful.

Be sure to realize that they were talking about running 13's naturally aspirated....you could run 11's on a b16 wiht a turbo and still remain (mostly) street legal.

ok how dependable would it be to put a turbo on a b16 wuld the motor need rebuilt after 50k. and lets say i get a b16 and like 8 months later i can afford to turbo does it need rebuilt befor a turbo goes on it???

throw some NO2 on it n ull be set for 12s....this girl i kno runs a crx witta stock d16 (civic ex) motor with nos n her lowest time is like 13.2 ...n thats on a stock ex motor
