Re: Need help

The 85 had the T-3 turbo. I agree, turn up the boost. You can use a simple boost controller like the one's offered at boostvalve.com. If you decide to run more then 7 or 8 psi you will have to modify or plug the pov and make sure you are using the highest octane fuel available, predetonation sucks.
Personally I recomend no mor then 10 psi for a street car. The stock T-3 is only good for about 15 psi anyway.
I wouldn't suggest an IC due to cost and reduction of boost, untill you decide to run extreme amounts of boost,(beyond the limits of the factory turbo). Besides I really prefer water injection systems (snowperformance.net). You can even add nitromethane to the water for an extra kick in the pants. Just don't go crazy with the nitro.

As far as exuast systems go I gutted my cat and welded in a piece of pipe to replace my muffler, only cost $10 for the 2 foot section of pipe. It isn't too loud due to the quitting effects of the turbo, but would get annoying on long trips.
If you try my suggestions you do so at your own risk. Almost forgot, get rid of the clutch fan and use an electic one. Then get started on the suspension.
Good luck and try not to blow anything up.
