2 problems with my 1993 360

First, the fan seems to have come loose. I'm about the least mechanically oriented guy in the world, so I don't know if it's a quick fix, or the water pump has burned out (it was -30 here last week) or what. Suggestions?
Second, ever since I bought the truck, I've had a problem with it dying on me when I take my foot off of the accelerator. Every time I pull up to a stop sign, I've got to re-start it. There doesn't seem to be a problem with the idle- once I restart it, it's fine. I've just been driving with two feet, but that doesn't solve my problem.
Any suggestions you gentlemen could make would be appreciated.
