dash lights dimmer problem, wont dim.

Need good wiring schematic for 1994 ford escort... anyone?

Heres the problem, my dash lights wont dim, everything on the car all works fine otherwise!

Originally they would dim sometimes and sometimes not.
Then they got where they would never dim.
I replaced the dimmer and they dimmed for 3 nites(used from wrecking yard)
Then they went back to not dimming again, Tried yet another dimmer and still they wont dim.

When i unplug the dimmer the dash lights arent affected, they stay full on .... to me thats weird.

The dimmer has 3 wires going to it, positive, negative and one other i would normally think would go to the dash lights to supply power but since the lights still work with the dimmer unplugged that cant be so....

I have a chiltons but the diagrams shed NO light ....

If you have any help please EMAIL me [email protected] THANKS!
