Steel, you can yell for those folks to shut up and leave you alone, they probably wont, but I hope they do. They are going to keep trying to save your soul (in their minds) because they believe it’s the right thing to do. I doubt they are calling you on the phone and telling you to repent, so just ignore them or change the channel.

There are a lot of people who really don’t understand much about theology and oversimplify the belief systems of others. Those people are about as comical as the bible thumpers when they rail away and make a racket about their not being a god. Its kind of like the less filling - tastes great commercials.

I totaly agree with you steel, most religions, (especialy christainity) are based on very little, and contain a lot of contridictions illogical statements and inrationalities.
But then if they didn't they wouldn't be religions.

If people want to believe in some higher power like a god becuase thats what keeps them happy and makes thier life fullfilled then good on them. Chances are the're living a much happier life than those who have yet to accept thier own existance. (although some would argue that be falling into religion they have denied thier true existance, but I don't totaly agree with that).
However I would much prefer they kept it to themselves. I don't care and dont want to know about how woderfull you think Jesus is, Iv been there, I was raised with it and schooled in it, and well all I can say is as far as im concerned its crap. And if you want to talk to me about it I will happily point that out to you. (unless I like you. )


As for believe in god being Narrowminded, well it all depends on why you believe in god, and how you interput what "god tells you", as well as a whole host of other factors.
e.g. J W Bush = ignorant.
Yogs = not ignorant.

One thing i just dont get, how, and why...do we exist....saying that "a big explosion happened that created it all" just doesnt do it, seems like something out of the bible, like a "coz we said so" deal. if the big bang happened it had to consist of some matter to explode with originally and it had to have a space to explode in as well, meaning something would have to exist beforehand.....soooo.....i dunno what to think, neither religion nor logic explains how, and more importantly, why, we exist.
