Ordered some stuff. Should be here mid feb.
JIC FLT-A2 coilovers HKS EVC V HKS Raqcing BOV Type II(already installed) R1 Racing Spec 8 rims Quafie(spelling) diff kit. Well it looks like the GSX will have to wait in line. Im going to have to put some money into the 300ZX to get her street worthie by late spring early summer. It is a project car that me and my father are working on. It has one blown turbo, i think it is seazed but i havent had a close look. Its a 1995 300ZX TT 5 speed, no OBD II ![]() Sorry to neglect the GSX but tough times call for tough measures.LOL |

Was thinking about wastegates, and it's funny how people are ready to buy 40mm+ ones.. when all i'm wondering is if they can build enough extra boost, why they don't just turn it up. Couldn't you run a 30psi spring and hardly ever need it?

Re: Got some stuff:D
Thats the whole thing about WGs that 90% of people dont understand, including the poeple advertising them. They rate WGs in HP, which is absolutely abusrd. The more HP you make, the less WG you need. For the reason you mention. You only need a large WG if you are trying to run low boost on a big turbo for some God forsaken reason...
IT also depends on where you mount it. On the O2 housing, I Would suggest getting a 40mm. In fact, I doubt it is any coincidence that on the turbine housing that FP had cast, there is a mount for a 40mm (same thing as O2 mount effectively). I'm venting all four runners on the mani with a deltagate (32mm) and can run spring pressure, 13 psi, on a 65 pound turbo. So that is a factor too. But in general people are big pussies and feel that they need to be able to run 15 psi on a Red if they ever feel the need to. I never go below 25 psi on pump gas, so 20 psi is a good rate for me.
