Exclamation B16a swap problem

I just swapped a b16a1 into my 91 hatch si and everything is running good except when my engine gets to operating temp. the idle jumps from about 1300-800 rpms back and forth until I shut off my engine. Im not getting any ECU codes. I was told that it I might need to adjust my idle adj. screw, but im not sure if that will help. Please help!!
thanks everyone!

Re: B16a swap problem

Check your idle screw first, if that doesnt fix it, unplug your EACV valve, and see if it stops. If it stops, your valve either needs to be replaced, or cleaned.

Re: B16a swap problem

Its a pretty common problem on 1st gen B16s. The idle is just constanty going up and down. Mine did this for months. I've had it happen to me twice and both times it was the fast idle control valve.. Located directly under the TB.

Its all honda motors. We had a 98 integra b20/vtec setup that did the same thing. His eacv was bad.

Yep, the FITV on the B18A is the exact same one as on the 1st gen B16s also. I think these valves are peices of shit.

But even a lot of the newer OBD equipped B series motors have simliar idle problems, but they don't have the fast idle valve, they have other problems like Kris mentioned.
