Which one would you buy?

I will post this on the 300M forum also. I would really appreciate any advice on my decision. I found two cars I like for different reasons. What would you do?

1.) A 2000 300M no options but only 28,000 miles (was a Fleet rental car). Dealer was asking $15,480 and I have him down to $12,900.

2). A 2000 LHS with 50,000 miles, sliding sunroof, chrome wheels and 4 disc changer upgrade (does the extra watt speakers come with this?). The car is a local trade and I spoke with the couple this afternoon and they said they had no problems with car and regret trading it in on a Pacifica.
Dealer was asking $12,995 and has come down to $11,000. Only thing I noticed during test drive was front end "shimmy" braking from 60-70 mph.
Dealer said possibly rotors.

I kind of like the LHS styling better but I like the low miles on the 300M. I really can't tell the difference in ride between the two.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

I think I'd take the LHS. I too like the styling better. I would agree with the brake shimmy as perhaps being the rotors. I don't know if they are any different for MY 2000, but I bought for my '95 and they were cheap.

Just make sure it was taken care of. Proper fluid changes, filter changes, just basic stuff. For the fun of it though, I'd change the timing belt in a few miles, around 80-90,000. I know Chrysler recommends what, 105,000? Granted, nothing will happen if the belt breaks, the 3.5 is NOT an interference engine, I think we've gone over this quite a bit, but it will save you a headache, because crap like this always happens at the wrong time. I just like to be safer than sorrier.

Have a good one!!

dont buy either one, you will be doing major maintenance before you get to 70,000 miles, if you already

Just for shits and grins. But why is that? I know plenty of people with LH sedans and they haven't had to make "major" repairs. Is this an "all Chryslers suck" thing?

Have a good one!!
