Revs when switched out of gear then slows
My SC-1 races when I come out of gear and into park or neutral. After a few seconds it slows down to a normal idle. I can't get it inspected because of this problem. I don't have any error codes and it has done this for a long time. It only became a big deal when the inspection ran out.
Car is: '93 SC-1 auto trans. A/C

I am new to saturns, but I would guess tps. My car does the same but not as badly. If I let the put the car in neutral after decelarating, it will hold 1500 rpms until I come to a complete stop. As soon as the speedo rests at the bottom the idle drops.
One day after a freeway drive the car would not come down from 2000 until I turned it off and back on. I need to order a helms manual for this car.
