Angry lost keys

My friend has a mustang and he lost the keys and did not have any spares. He went to the dealer but they wont do it, they want a keycode from the original dealer the car was bought from. And who knows who that is. Is there any other way he can get a key made. Thanks.

That response from the dealer sounds like BS. You should be able to use the VIN#. I assume its the keys with the microchip. Dealer must have options.
Could install after market alarm tto bypass Ford's system and change ignition lock.

Not ALL of them. Some have ignition, starter, and/or fuel shut offs. The dealer should be able to help you if you give them the VIN and proper ID that shows you own the car. If you need a coded key however, you might have to have it towed to them.

Ask to speak to the service manager and see if he`d be so kind as to go online to ford`s technical website and depending on the year of your vehicle he could with just the vin get the keycodes online. The only problem after that is if you have a pats system. You`ll need to program the key.
