No heat/no AC. BLower not working

Hello,

My girlfriend's intrepid's blower fan seems to have just quit working this morning. Of course it has to pick a nice COLD day to do this. She says she can feel a little bit of heat when her hand is in contact with one of the vents, but the blower is not blowing any air through...no matter what speed she has the fan turned up. Any ideas?

I think this may be related to a problem she's been having for a better part of a year or so. Intermittently when she had the fan on for heat or AC, there was a noise coming from the dash..like a low-high pitched hum or whine.

Thanks in advance!

You don't tell us the year of the Intrepid.

IF it is an early model (up to 96) it has an inherent fault with the climate control module. I have replaced ours twice in 7 years. Expensive but worth it I guess.

Gotta have heat right? hehehe...

Good luck... MP

if it is a 98 on.... then their is a problem with 2.7 litre engine and this might have something to do with your problem. owners have reported heat problems due to engine malfunction. check out www.anyboard.com

Sounds like a bad blower motor resistor to me!! But the blower motor itself may need replacing also. That's normally where your low-high pitched hum comes from. Did it change pitch when changing blower motor speeds??
