first off, no one is going to email you. i HATE when people ask that.

i just painted bits of my interior recently, and i must say i was very impressed with my finished product. heres what i did.

scrub peices with comet, rinse, and let FULLY dr.

sand with 320 grit dry sandpaper, and then wipe ALL dust off(or rinse and let dry)

thin coats of primer(doesnt realy matter which color, as long as you put a lot of coats of color on) with light 400 grit sanding in between. about 3 coats total.

primer sealer with light 400 grit sanding between coats. 2 coats total

THIN coats of color with wetsanding 1000grit in between coats. as many coats until desired color is obtained.

thin coat of clear top coat, followed by heavier caots until desired shine is obtained.

i got all my stuff from walmart. it is all dupli-color. the sand paper is "wet-or-dry" and has a dark grey color to it...it should be near the paint. combine my instructions with the intsructions on the cans, and you should be good to go. if i think about it, ill post a picture of my dash.

its isnt neccesary espescially if what ur painting isnt going to be touched often, like if your painting the vent coverings etc., but the clear coat will give it shine, and it will protect the paint from flaking and stuff, plus the more layers of clear coat u use the shineier and more glossy it will appear

clear is not expensive at all. go to walmart, and get "clear top coat" duplicolor from the automotive center. should be about 4 bux. and you dont need that much. however, it is a pain going to walmart...i hate that store; it seems like every single customer in the whole place is just trying to keep me there.

the smell fasdes in a couple days. just use regular paint from walmart. maybe even get some bulldog adhesion promoter, which helps the paint stick to plastic better. vinyl paint is not needed.

Re: How Do I Paint My Interior Of My Car?

Well supposedly with Fusion it will go on vinyl and plastics "No sanding No Primer" But I sanded anyway and I painted my door panels and stuff and I wasn't in any hurry to get them back in (I'm 15...no license yet) and so when I finally did (it had been about 1 wk) I didn't even smell the paint. When it comes to these interior pieces patience is applied TO EVERY SINGLE STEP in my book. Although this fatmat I'm installing smells like ass and there's nothing you can do except roll the windows down
