Exclamation 1990 Crx Dx Need To Make It A 14 Sec Car All Moter With Stock Engine

MY FRIEND HAS A ALL MOTER STOCK ENGINE RUNNIN 14 ITS FULLY BUILT PISTONS VALVES CAMS INTAKE HEADERS EXHAUST NITROUS TIMMING CAMSHAFT ETC HOW CAN I MAKE MY CAR THAT FAST WITH A STOCK ENGINE WAHT SHOULD I BUY?/ OR DO NEXT I HAVE 1990 HONDA CRX DX. EMAIL ME AT [email protected] THANKU

tell your friend toornto pimp said he's on crack. You can get a dohc zc which is 130hp for like $600CDN in toronto and im sure you can find one that cheap wherever you live. It's nowhere near worth building a DX motor. the least you can do is a mini-me swap and then build from there but i'd recommend doing a simple swap first.

If he has nitrous, it's not all-motor. Although 14's can be done all-motor quite easily. I would recommend switching over to MPFI and a VTEC head swap first. Then of course the basics I,H,E. Throw in a cam, some head work, and some pistons then you might hit 14's with the right driver.

why all motor? a decent turbo setup should get you into the 14's.

You need to get the cars weight down to around < 2000lbs.. Then throw in a D16Z6 (dx motor really isn't worth it)..

I say build it for low compression. Run min boost for daily driving, then run around 20 psi on race night.

First off your never going to hit 14's in the stock pos d15 engine. So rip that out and drop a stock b16 in (will hit 14's) or a zc with some work.

stock engine = no VTEC head, no Nitrous (not all motor)

good luck finding internals for the 1.5L engine.

14s all motor is laughable with a d15b2

Try this:

Intake/header/exhaust
agressive P&P
Delta 272 regrind cam/crower springs
ZC pistons
custom tuned chip/standalone
race gas
advance the timing all the way
oh, and strip the car down to a drivers seat, pedals, and steering wheel

that might do it, but then anybody could waste on you with a mildly boosted turbo D16A6.

i agree with this, except for a couple things. first off, ZC pistons arent going to sit right with 1.5L rods. the wrist pins are in different places on the 1.5 and 1.6 rods. secondly, advancing timing all the way has actually an adverse effect on performance. The myth that "race gas and advanced timing makes horsepower" is pure bullshit. having the timing set correctly for the engine is what makes power. advancing just makes the fuel pre-ignite, and detonation kills engines.

like i said, good luck finding aftermarket support for 1.5L internals.

C'mon guys, answer his question PROPERLY. He wants a 14 second car with the stock motor, so, here are some option:

1) Race it down a VERY steep hill.
2) Set up an aircraft carrier style sling.
3) Drop a large bomb behind your car for propulsion.

these guys forgot to mention also the tranny. if you can afford to do so run an si/zc hybrid tranny. the 1.5 loves to be revved. i was able to knock down 1.36 sec of my .8 mile times with that tranny alone as compared to the stock dx tranny. as far as getting into the 14's. be prepared to spend money! anything is possible with a huge wallet. fastest i ran in my d15b2 was a 15.3 n/a on street tires, then a rod decided to let loose.
