Turbo question

I read a post where someone said that if you are looking to put 200,000 + on a subaru, stay away from turbo.

I was just wondering what problems I could face when putting this kind of mileage on a wrx wagon. I know the wrx's are newer and there aren't alot of people with mega high milage on them to reference. I currently have a legacy and have no doubt that it will go the distance.

Wouldn't a wrx do the same if I treat it right? What would I have to watch out for with a turbo? Expensive repairs? Certain parts will go before others?

The only issue I can think of is the Turbo itself. It is usually the first major part to fail which isn't surprising considering how hot they get. If the Turbo is allowed to cool properly, they last much longer. However, most cars do not come with a Turbo Timer which allows the engine to continue idling after you "turn it off" which in turn allows the turbo to cool properly.

I would recommend installing a timer on any turbo equiped car, especially if it is driven hard. Then again, you could always just let your car idle for 5-15 minutes depending on how hard you have just been driving the car.
