93 Rodeo Fuel Pump
Car not starting. Should I hear the pump kick on briefly when the key is in the "on" position? I'm only see/hear the fuel pump work when I try cranking the (I have dropped the tank)....

Re: 93 Rodeo Fuel Pump
Yup you should here the pump kick on for 3-5 seconds to pressurize the system with the key in the on position.

I went as far as dropping the tank, only time the pump comes on is in the "run/cranking position". Since the car will not start, I can't verify if the pump continues to work or not. Funny part about the whole thing, is when I pull the relay off, I get the same results, is it possible the relay is faulty?????

Re: 93 Rodeo Fuel Pump
Yup the relay could be bad. That is a cheap part to replace.

Since I had dropped the tank, I had decided I would replace Fuel pump anyways to keep from messing with the tank again. Once all was in place the car started right up. Guess the pump had a short or something (pressure related), what threw me off was being able to jump the pump and watch fuel come out the fuel line. I guess that doesn't prove it's defective, hence pressure test, thanks........
