i have a 2000 tacoma trd and my oil check light is on...my dad had it check and there was no problems but the light is still on...when i drove it home last nite the light bugged the crap out of me that i had to put a piece of paper to block it...
could u guys pls help me and tell me why the light is on and how do i get it to turn off... thanx in advance...

my light comes on whenever i have to brake hard. but then it goes right off. try adding some oil if it needs it. if not, try taking it to the dealership to see if something is wrong with the wiring.

i did add oil i even changed it...and i brought it to the dealer...and the light is still on...

there could be lots of reasons why the light is on..
make sure you dont add too much oil...the v6 tacoma only needs 5.5 quarts...the 4 cylinder needs 5..i think..i have a v6.... you can go to the dealer and have them run a scan on the check engine light....if its under warranty they should do it for free,..... dont let the Stealer tell you that light is fine...it might be a bad O2 sensor or your knock sensor is bad...etc.. have the dealer use his scan tool to find out what the code is |
