Re: Craving Performance !

right now on ebay you can buy a 20+ hp chip for only $8. also you can go to www.jcwhitney.com and look up other part that you think may help. i would recomend an exhaust system with the chip. i put one in my b3000 it does help but you could get more out of it with maybe an exhaust system and possibly a k&n air filter. these are just a couple of things that could be done easily.

Re: Craving Performance !

OH yeah forgot , have a K/N, noticed a little quicker throttle response. Gas Mileage maybe changed a little? One more quick question . How about Cold Air Induction?

Re: Craving Performance !

i'm really not sure what it would sound like. i know when i put the chip in my truck it did not sound anything like a bee, it actually had more of a rumble to. these chips are on ebay all the time, and they are cheap and easy to install. the exhaust is up to you, i would try checking out flow master exhausts rather then a gibson just because they generally cost less. however if you planned to do more things to your engine you might want to think about a gibson exhaust.

Re: Craving Performance !

uh, yea 20 hp out of a chip from a 2.3l n/a engine is bs, I'd be surprised if it gives 3 hp. But $8 for 3 hp is still a really good price. Caution should be used with the K&N filter because if the oil gets on the MAF sensor it will skrew it up and cause drivability problems. My roomate has a ford performance catalog with all kinds of stuff that will work in that engine, most of them cost a small fortune though. They make a racing performance cylinder head for like $3,000
