What ohms can I operate?

My speakers are Audiobahn AW122T's (2). Can I put these on a 2 ohm load? They say they can operate at 4 ohm.

So your saying when I wire 2 SVC subs to a amp, mine=2 channel, i can make the amp think it is putting out a 2 ohm load? These subs AW122T are 550 RMS and I'm going to need alot of power to push them. Can anyone find me an amp, or 2 under 200bucks for both, that can power these both a piece to about 800 watts?

With the 800 he means max. However would it hurt a 400 watt sub being powered to 460 watts? A freind of mine has 1200 watt subs powered 100 watts over and they work fine. If I can't do this how would I know when the amp is turned up to 400 watts?

it really depends on the sub, amp, and how long the sub is put to work.

A true 460 watts can AND cannot hurt the sub (if it is truely rated at 400w). Putting it on test tones for a long time will generate more heat, which eventually leads to thermal overloading.

But since it's music, music will be dynamics. Its never 460w constantly, so you're amp can dip as low as 0 watts on some songs. I wouldn't worry with that extra 60 watts. Set your gain correctly and you should have no problem.

Cool I didn't think it would be a problem with just regualr music. I don't do the test tones they make my car rattle too much and I have no desire to hear them. I'll probably set the amps a tad bit below to be safe but I'm going to be selling them and getting ones that match up perfectly in a few months. Another question .... for now I was just goin' to hook my subs up only at about half power to get them broken in.... is this necissary and if it is how long should I run them at a lower power until I fully power them?
