Question Auto 2 5-Speed

I have an 89 RS that origianally had a 2.8 w/T-5. Someone swapped out the motor and trannny for a 350 and 700r4. the 700 is now toast and I'd like to go back to the 5-speed. Will any 5-speed work? Does it have to come off a camaro? I have a found a possible donor, a 92 4.3 S-10.....? Any help is appreciated.

Is the 350 that's in the car a beefy high torque motor?
Do you drive it hard ever?

If both of those are true you can count on the motor eating the T5 for breakfast and shitting out the clutch. A T56 is possible but you will need a fabbed mount or go to thirdgenparts.com and they have a T56 to 3rd gen tranny mount. T5 is good for about 330lb ft of torque, Tremac has a 3550 which is a stronger T5 that is in the area of 400-450lb ft limit but it's pricey. If you drive the car soft and have a weaker 350 then a T5 will suffice...
