Glad to be part of this community! I am hoping someone has a suggestion for the problem I am having with my 1996 Taurus. All of a sudden the turn signals and hazard lights gave up on me, other than that, headlights, tail lights and reverse lights are all functioning... appreciate the help.

Same problem. the left signal flashed really fast then they all quit working along withthe hazards. New flashers and rear turn signal bulb replaced in 20 degrees. I guess I try the front or replace the relay in the engine if I can........

Signal & hazard lights don't work
SAME PROBLEM!!! Any suggestions? I checked the fuses under the dash, and checked the relay under the hood. All seems to be working but still no flashers or blinkers!!! Am I missing another relay somewhere? does anyone have a picture of the relay box under the hood to point me to the correct relay if I might be looking at the wrong one?

Re: Signal & hazard lights don't work...
I would look at a bad MFS, thats a Multi Function Switch.
It controls the high beams, your wipers run through it, the hazard lights too. I put one in a Mustang, not hard to do.

I noticed one time when I hit the hazard switch that only the left one was blinking (really fast) so I jiggled the switch and both came on at normal speed. My suggestion is to jiggle the switch a little, push up/down a little.

Thats a good indication the switch is going bad.

97 ( i think) ford taurus. Turn signals and emerg. flashers quit. Essentially everything that flashes. Could not find a blown fuse and couldn't even locate the flasher module that used to be in all cars. I am thinking the Multi Function Switch fuses are the ones to be checked and the switch itself . Is there a flasher module hidden somewhere? Thanks

multi function switch, not a normal stock item, expect to order it. cost between $75 and $110. I didn't even try the dealer but expected them to be $150. Only tools needed for the job are phillips and star/posidriver.
The MFS almost looks repairable depending on the problem and availability of funds for the replacement |

Need some help fellas. I have replaced the fuses and the MFS still no signals. The parking lights work fine but no damn signal flashers or hazards. I am losing my mind! What else should I check??

Multi function switch location?
Where is this switch located? Is it in the steering column? Thanks.

multi function switch MFS is in the steering column. Its the turn signal, dimmers, flashers and other stuff. Thats why it costs so much . Typically $120, usually a special order item. All you need to change it is a screw driver and a torx/posidrive bit. Takes about 10 minutes.

Re: Signal & hazard lights don't work...
I just replaced the flasher relay and that didn't work so I'll try the multi-function switch next.
