Unhappy Oil Light Keeps Coming On!

My oil light started to come on the other day... it started off with coming on only when i am idling... when it got jut below 1 on my RPMS.. but if a reved my engine and got the RPM gauge above 1 it would go off... it did this all of Friday... on saturday it would only come on intermitantly... but still when i was under 1 on the RPMS... I checked my oil level... and I checked all other fluid levels... all good. I just got my oil changed on Monday and everything was fine until Friday... Does anyone know what this problem might be? And perhaps how to fix it?

Re: Oil Light Keeps Coming On!

I would think it might be something as simple as a sticky switch. There will be a fluid level switch in your engine, so that when it gets below a cetain level, the light will come on. That switch may be stuck down or stuck in such a way that it will go so high and drop. It could also be the brand of oil you used or weight of it that could affect the indicator. Of course it could always be a computer glitch. It is hard to say, but it is always good to do trial and error starting with simple problems first.
