2 kills and 1 loss

i went up to state steet last night witch is like the bullavard but a longer strip and less cops. when i found my self next to a red light w/a mid 90's trans am on the left and a volkswagon jetta w/ turbo on the right of me, when the light turned green i luanched perfectly as well as the trans am but the jetta launched to hard(but thats what you get w/ stock tires and turbo) so he was out and me and the trans am were neck to neck tell about the middle of 2nd when i gained about 2 cars on him, both easy kills. on the other hand the next race wouldnt be so easy
this kid with a 98 maxima pulled along the side of me and asked if i had taken it to the track, and i said ya i run 15.0-15.2(on a bad launch,AND plz remember i live in utah(4750 above sea) and he said are you serious? cuz i run 15.2 and then he asked if i wanted to race on another street so i said ya and followed him about 2miles away to this straight away thats about 1+mile long. so he counted to 3 and we both launched great, neck to neck all through 1st and 2nd and then about the middle of 3rd i started gaining on him barely i didnt want to stop yet cause i havnt quite proven i won so finally as soon as i got a little more than a car on him i shut it down at 115! it took me from 80 to 115 just to get a car on him. it was the closest race ive ever been in! and those are the only kind of races i like win or lose. and then heading home there was a bmw m3 and i knew it would kill me but i raced it anyway and lost the end. sorry so long.

Re: 2 kills and 1 loss

You lose to an M3, but beat a mid 90's TA (assuming mid is 93-97 which are all LT1's)? What gives, something doesn't add up. LT1 F-bodies launch hard, in fact it's hard for anyone to get the jump on one. Where the suck is on their top end, and they don't pull as hard. Where's my flag??? If he launched perfectly, I don't see how you beat him...

more than likely it was just a v6... not a TA

Re: 2 kills and 1 loss

I didn't even think about the firebird being a V6 part. That might be a distinct possibility. I know a guy in Missouri that has replaced all of the panels on his firebird so that the car is a dead ringer for a Trans Am, but still had the V6 3.8 engine in it. I bet he goes out and races, loses, and then the other person thinks they just beat a TA. So, I could see that as being very plausible...

his sig says he has a 75 shot so maybe he forgot to spray on the m3, and he sprayed on the TA. even so the TA should have pulled hard on him off the line with him having to spray to catch up. either way should not have been an "easy kill"

Re: 2 kills and 1 loss

even with the 75 shot i'd bet the m3 would take you unless it's an older one.

you really think so? i think it would be a pretty close race. The 02' m3 runs 13.4 and i run 14.4 in sacremento w/out n20. And with a 75'shot plus my mods and being in such a light body i think i can shave a full sec.
ill find out for sure next summer.
