Question 2004 Sienna w/HIDs

I might add a Sienna to my garage, but I'm curious about the HID option. HIDs are offered with the XLE Limited (optional I think). Are they bright like the HIDs from Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes? The HIDs on my Lexus are very bright and are self-leveling, and make night-time driving much easier. I hope Toyota is offering the Xenon-style HIDs for the Sienna. I'd be interested in seeing a night shot of an 04 Siennna with HIDs. Thank you in advance for posting the pictures.

Re: 2004 Sienna w/HIDs

my 04 has HID. we got the XLE limited edition awd with the HO package. Its a white light and not as bluish as the BMW or Lexus... I'm used to BMW xenons and its pretty close but not as intense. It is much better then the standard yellow halogen lights for me.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. That's mainly the information I was after. It's good to know the HID option is brigher than the standard headlights. Thanks again.

Re: 2004 Sienna w/HIDs

Oh yeah...go with the HID's. I have a 2004 BMW X5 4.4 with them. They are self leveling, and do a great job of lighting up the road. They are a really good option to have. Plus, when people look at them on the street while driving at night, they know it is a really nice car. Sienna in general is very nice. My cousin has one and he is very happy with it.

Re: 2004 Sienna w/HIDs

The HID option is available only on the XLE Limited. These are true HID made with ballasts made by NipponDenso. The light has color temp of about 5000k, which produces whiteish light. It's not blueish light like some other cars, but 5000K white light is brighter than those blueish lights.

Any Sienna can be retrofitted with a HID kit that has 9006 type of bulb. A kit can be had on Ebay for $250-$400 depending on brand. You can choose the white 5000K, blueish 6500K, or purplish 7000K color temperatures. They are basically plug and play conversion, but you may need to have the light housing re-aimed.

The HID option on Sienna is not self leveling. There is a manual level adjustment for when there are luggage or passenger in the back.
