Running without a Cat. converter
Would running a 91 crx wihtout cat. have any affect on the peerfomance........ i.e. bogging down........loss a pwer lack of back pressure?

I am running without a cat and it helped the performance some. I got a couple horse gain. It reduces back pressure which gives you more horse. It will not hurt anything except your wallet if your state has emissions...

It will hurt your head.
It sound like shit, smells like shit, and is illeagle. The HP gains with a test pipe are minimal, you're best off to just spend some money and get a high-flow cat.

Agreed. http://www.mufflertech.com has some nice Carsound cats. I paid $89 shipped for a 2.5" high flow Carsound cat with flanges and received it a week later. Run without a cat and impress the ladies in your car with the nice smell that will come in your car when its stopped.
