black box

I have a 1997 JGC and the black box caught on fire also. The dealer here says there are no recalls on that part. I have looked at salvage yards here and all of those part have already been pulled. Seems like there is a definate defect to me. The part is the memory control module it is $350.00 new. But my plug burnt up as well. If you have anymore info on this problem let me know .
Thanks

Re: black box underseat

Search for the memory control module on google or something and see if you can find any for cheaper than what the dealer charges.

aamech, meza's price sounds pretty fair I would follow up with him, and see what happens.
