Hi.... I'm new as well

Like most, I came to this site looking for answers. Hopeing this is the place.

I was in a pretty good sized accident with my 2000 Altima and while I did considerable front end damage, my airbag did not deploy.

Does anyone know of any good sources to find out the specs. behind airbag deployment. What speeds, how much damage, where the damage needs to be. Stuff like that. I hit the car in fromt of me going at least over 40MPH. Destroyed my front left quarter, bumper, radiator, compressor and bent the hood a good bit but not alot.

My car has 66K miles, trade in value is apx. 6K and retail value is 8,500. The est. by the appraisor for repairs is apx. 5,100 so I am looking for other insight to get this bad boy totalled as I fear more troubles.

I bought it used. Was owned by a rental agency and I later found out it was involved in a rear end crash that was never reported.

Any help would be fantastic.
