Brake Pad break in?
Is there a certain procedure to follow to break in new pads, like no ABS or hard braking for the first few hundred miles?

Re: Brake Pad break in?
That's not so much true with today's brake pads, but you should brake "normally" for the first few hundred miles.

Re: Brake Pad break in?
Basically, if you just installed new brake pads, you want the pistons in the system to reset properly. Some are really anal about breaking the pads in, personally, once I put them I take the car out and brake firmly from 10mph to zero, then repeat at 20mph, 30mph, then 45mph, then brake from 60mph to like 10 or 15mph. Let your brakes cool a bit then repeat this. If you really want to go crazy with it then you can do it multiple times. Just don't go out and hit 80 then nail your brakes. But remember good braking is firm braking, not slowly riding your brakes, that is what really wears them down.
