INDY RULES - Another Question

Just want to thank INDY for being such a good contributor to this post. I would suck without him. I have one more question about my aurora. What is wrong with it that when I apply the brake the signal light and the whole lighting system inside dims a bit?

IT doesn't seem as though the battery is dead... cause it starts fine every time and it never stalls.

Solution?

Thumbs up

Please let me second that! We are truly fortunate to have experts like Indy and Bustedratchet (and several others)to help us find answers and stay out of trouble. Regarding the lights, it sounds like it might be a loose
ground possibly at the battery but I will defer to the experts.

Re: INDY RULES - Another Question

When does that happen ? My 99 will do that when I have a bigtime electrical load on the car like in the defrost position your A/C compressor is running + the seat heater and maybe the rear defrost and headlights, it all adds up. But as soon as I let off the brake and hit the gas It all goes bright again. You could open the DIC and hit the engine button a couple times and watch the volts to see how low it goes but as long as it starts and runs well I wouldn't be too worried about it. Jlaird thank you for the kind words although I'll never claim to know everything but I enjoy helping when I can.

Re: Re: INDY RULES - Another Question

Thank you for the kudo's. I'm not a pro mechanic, I just try to apply some old school common sense to high tech cars. That's why you don't see me tackling the scan tool or electrical problem/wiring threads. Air, fuel and spark don't really change, until hydrogen fuel cells replace the internal "congestion" engine. Anyway, the amperes output can degrade even with good voltage readings, so it could just be a tired alternator. For all the accessories this car has, I believe it should put out around 125 amps.
